Humanity has always been fascinated with the ocean, and even today - we are not entirely positive what lives in the waters that cover more than 70% of the earth’s surface. So it should be no surprise that storytellers throughout history have populated these waters with all sort of monsters that are ready to wreck havoc on sailors at any time.

Some of these mythical sea monsters are said to be so large that they can lay waste to entire cities with ease, while others are no bigger than any other creature in the seas. The thing they all have in common is that they have captured human imagination since the tales of these monsters started to be told.
