🐝And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.Hebrews 11:6🐝🕯️This is a popular verse from the book of Hebrews, and also one easily misunderstood out of context. Taken all by itself, the verse presents a truth which is fairly easy to understand. Namely, that God's first and foremost concern is with our faith—our attitude towards Him and trust in Him—rather than in our actions. This does not make our behaviors unimportant. On the contrary: what we do reflects what we truly believe (James 2:14-17) However, as this verse shows, merely "going through the motions" is not what God is looking for. Those who want to please God need to have faith, not simple agreement, and not merely reluctant cooperation.The problem with quoting or reading this verse out of its context is the specter of "blind faith," or wishful thinking. As shown in prior passages, the writer of Hebrews is not advocating for a gullible, wishful-thinking attitude. On the contrary, this entire letter has been an exercise in evidence and logic. The writer's point is meant to emphasize the primacy of true faith over insincere works: robotic obedience without legitimate trust in God is worthless. This lesson is given as part of a description of Old Testament figures whose actions prove their faith. 🐝But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. Micah 7;7The prophet bemoans himself that he lived among a people ripening apace for ruin, in which many good persons would suffer. Men had no comfort, no satisfaction in their own families or in their nearest relations. Contempt and violation of domestic duties are a sad symptom of universal corruption. Those are never likely to come to good who are undutiful to their parents. The prophet saw no safety or comfort but in looking to the Lord, and waiting on God his salvation. 💕🐝God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.Colossians 1:27🐝🕯️The "mystery" of Christ mentioned in the previous verse was both for Jews and Gentiles. In addition to mystery, Paul here notes God's sovereignty, which is His perfect and all-encompassing knowledge and control. The revelation came only when God chose to make it happen. This mystery was "great" both in content and impact among the Gentiles, including to the Colossian believers.The glory of this mystery "is Christ in you, the hope of glory." Christ came to earth and also now lives in those who believe. Interestingly, this is the one place in Paul's letters he uses the explicit phrasing of Christ "in you." He seeks to make the gospel message very personal for these Colossian Christians, whom he has never personally met. With Christ in you, as a saved believer, you have the "hope of glory." 🐝The Lord will fight for you; you have only to be stillExodus 14;14🐝God loves You. Pretty much what this bible verse says is that God loves you. It says that He will protect you and that you don't need to worry or be scared or try to fight on your own. God will never forsake any of us and He will always be by our side. Exodus 14:14 is such a prime example of the care that God has for us. So if you ever feel like the world is collapsing around you as you know it, then take a moment and be still. Let God take care of the deadline for work or the homework that seems impossible. Give it to God and He will come into the fight and He will win for you. Every struggle, every temptation, frustration, and disappointment, give it to God, and He will win. God is victorious in all things. Give your struggle to God and all your worries, He will fight for you; all you need to do is keep still. 🐝 👑Romans 5:3-5 speaks to the theme of perseverance through suffering and the hope that arises from it. In these verses, Paul writes:"Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."Here’s a brief breakdown:Rejoicing in Suffering: Paul emphasizes that suffering is an integral part of the Christian experience. Instead of despairing, believers are encouraged to find joy in their trials.Process of Growth: The passage outlines a progression: suffering leads to endurance, endurance builds character, and character fosters hope. 🐝"Therefore, holy brethren, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession". In this verse, the writer of Hebrews addresses his readers as "holy brethren," which refers to fellow Christians who have faith in Jesus Christ as their savior. The verse emphasizes Jesus' role as a mediator between God and humanity, as he is both divine and human. As the divine apostle, he speaks God's word, and as the high priest, he sanctifies and saves humanityHebrews 3:1🐝Lighting candles and incense and inviting the holy spirit to guide you, is a beautiful ritual to incorporate in trying times.It often was my nightly ritual to remind me of whom I needed to trust in the most difficult times and it allowed me a peaceful rest.
