Ep 378HS 378 FBF - Shaking Off Your Midlife Crisis with Michael Cosgrove
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 123, from January 2013. It's a fact – many people suffer a mid-life crisis between the ages of 40 and 60. It is a transition period during which one realizes their life may be half over and they reflect on their accomplishments in life, their regrets, and what they would still like to do. Jason Hartman interviews author, Michael Cosgrove, who endured what he called a three-quarter life crisis at the age of 60 that led to his book, Imperfect Passage. Michael had a great life that he had worked hard to achieve – a beautiful family, a successful career, and a lovely home in southern California with views of the Pacific Ocean. But Michael was not taking to the idea of old age well. He wanted to establish a legacy for his family and decided to "shake things up" by embarking on a long and dangerous adventure to attempt to sail around the world. Michael was not prepared for the rigors of such an adventure and suffered many hardships and mental and emotional stress, including a dangerous crew member with a personality disorder. Michael talks about the biggest surprise that came from this attempt, the psychological impact. On the ocean, he noted, you lose all of your control, which required him to adapt to the environmental conditions and get a grip on his attitude. As Michael says, "You can't change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails." Another lesson he learned was to recognize the difference between a temporary inconvenience and a real problem. Listen at: www.HolisticSurvival.com for more about Michael's rough voyage that ultimately led to some of the best lessons about life. Michael Cosgrove earned his BS from Michigan State University and his Masters in psychology from Western Michigan University. He has been a teacher, a coach, a psychologist (MA), a model and an actor. For the past 32 years, he has been masquerading as an insurance agent. The writing process for his book was an emotional experience for him because he has always battled debilitating Dyslexia. First, he hears the words in his head, then feels them in his heart, and they come out of his fingertips onto the keys of his computer. His hope is that his message in Imperfect Passage will add value to the lives of his readers. He realized it's not about him, or the book, but what he can offer the audience as a result of his experience. He hopes the readers will find meaning in the power of success, as well as the lessons of defeat. Website: Imperfect Passage: A Sailing Story of Vision, Terror, and Redemption

Ep 377HS 377 - Time for Term Limits? Why Change in America is Hard with Dr Paul Broun
Jason Hartman talks with Congressman Dr. Paul Broun about what's going on in Washington in regards to policy and the constitutionality of it all. This was recorded prior to the GOP Tax Reform bill passing, but Dr. Broun is a proponent of a tax system that's more in line with a flat tax. The two discuss the irrational belief people have that the marketplace won't react to actions the government takes, as well as why the corporate tax rate needs to be reduced (and who that ultimately helps). They also discuss how to make change actually happen, and whether getting rid of the federal income tax is feasible and if it'd be harmful for the economy on the whole. Key Takeaways: [2:52] The major principle of most politicians is re-election [6:10] It's unrealistic to think that people are going to stop voting for things that are in their immediate best interest [13:05] Many people seem to not think about the fact that the marketplace reacts [17:00] Corporations don't actually pay the corporate tax, it's the consumer who bears the weight [22:36] Making change happen is very hard, everything has been going to the left for at least 50 years. Paul wants to get rid of a lot of federal departments [26:05] Would getting rid of the federal income tax and moving to a sales tax harm the overall US economy? Website: www.PaulBroun.com

HS 376 FBF - Ideology vs Reality of Environmentalism with Devin Foley
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 102, from August 2012. Jason Hartman interviews returning guest, Devin Foley on the subject of environment versus ecology and the ideology versus reality behind the environmental movement. The term "environmentalism" is a popular word today with a broad meaning. There are many components to environmentalism, such as conservation, ecology, human impact on nature, and maybe lesser known, a philosophical/spiritual component. Devin and Jason talk about the impact large corporations have on the environment, how competition from the little guys cleaning up their waste have pushed corporations to take care of their own pollutants, lack of enforcement of regulations by the government, and the top-down, often selective, bureaucratic management of the EPA. Devin points out that our air is much cleaner today than it would have been in the 1800s and earlier, when nearly every household was burning wood, and later coal, to heat and cook. Advanced technology today has changed things for the better, even though there is still a high level of concern. Jason and Devin also talk about the philosophy of deep ecology and extreme environmentalists that consider humans to be the problem and what these groups are really implying. Devin is co-founder and president of Intellectual Takeout. In his role, he oversees content development and marketing, works with academics and experts to assure quality, and publicly promotes the site. Prior to co-founding Intellectual Takeout, Devin served as the Director of Development at the Center of the American Experiment, a state-based think tank in Minnesota, where he was responsible for meeting a $1 million annual budget. He has roughly eight years of fundraising and policy experience working for candidates and non-profit organizations. Additionally, he has been on 100.3 KTLK as well as Talk of the Nation on NPR and was named a 2011 Young Leader by the American Swiss Foundation. Devin studied history and political science at Hillsdale College in Michigan. There he met his lovely wife; together they have three kids and live in Stillwater, Minnesota. Devin enjoys fast cars, long drives, great books, old planes, and nearly everything life throws his way. Website: www.IntellectualTakeout.org
Ep 375HS 375 - How Trump Uses Fake News with John Ziegler
Jason Hartman talks with John Ziegler, conservative columnist, investigative reporter, commentator and documentary filmmaker. Today the two are discussing fake news, and how it's being used by politicians by Trump but also news outlets in general. The two also discuss the liberal nature of media in general, the ESPN scandal, how Trump was elected, and what impact that's had on the Republican party. Key Takeaways: [2:33] Why the fake news concept has taken off [5:00] The mainstream media might be the most targeted for "fake news", but Twitter/Facebook/Google might be the biggest threat to free speech & real news [9:48] What went on in the ESPN scandal [13:09] The #1 thing every person should understand about the media [15:30] Trump could only happen because everyone was scared of losing their job at Fox News, so they jumped on the bandwagon [18:20] Trump has fractured the Republican party, and whether Trump will turn Democrat in the 2nd half of his term [21:12] The economy hasn't had a pullback in a long time, which is unprecedented, but many anecdotal tells are suggesting people have more disposable income than you'd think Website: www.FreeSpeechBroadcasting.com www.Mediaite.com @ZigmandFreud "Political correctness and liberalism are basically close cousins" "Wherever the money flows easily, you have the luxury of being a leftist" "We sold our soul for a couple of magic beans and we didn't even get a wall out of the deal"

Ep 374HS 374 FBF - Self-Defense in the Real World with Alex Haddox
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 98, from July 2012. With a growing wealth disparity across the U.S. as the middle class moves out of expensive states or is significantly reduced to poverty in other areas, there comes ripe ground for a battle between the "haves" and "have-nots." It is becoming more and more important to protect oneself and family from rising crime. Jason Hartman is joined on this episode by self-defense expert, Alex Haddox, to discuss best practices in self-defense. The first point that Alex addresses is awareness and avoidance, which are key to survival. Based on the military alertness color code, there are five levels of awareness, white, yellow, orange, red, and black. White is a total lack of awareness and black is being stunned and unable to react. Listen at: www.HolisticSurvival.com for Alex's life-saving advice. Alex talks about the importance of women's safety, high vulnerability situations, particularly bars, and stresses avoidance is the best solution. Jason and Alex also discuss home security, with lighting being the first step in deterring a home invasion. Alex goes on to explain other security steps homeowners can take, but most importantly, once again stressing awareness as the best defense. Alex Haddox took his first martial arts lesson at age ten. He has over sixteen years of combined traditional martial arts training in multiple styles including American Kenpo, Hapkido and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. He has studied under world-renowned masters including: Grand Master Bong Soo Han, Grand Master Larry Tatum, Senior Master of the Art Mohamad Tabatabai, Master Bill Green, Master Eric Friske, Master Danny Cruz, and Jim Wagner. Mr. Haddox teaches both traditional martial arts and Jim Wagner's Reality-Based Personal Protection system. He believes there are a place and a need for both in today's complex and often dangerous environments. Each type of training offers their own benefits and equally valid point of view to the student. In a previous career, Mr. Haddox was the Product Manager and co-founder of the Symantec AntiVirus Research Center (SARC). He was considered one of the world's leading computer virus experts, traveled worldwide on speaking engagements and appeared on national television programs, including Good Morning America, CNBC, the Discovery Channel and Fox News Network. His work and personal life have taken him all over the globe including countries in North America, Europe, Africa and South America. He has seen some of the world's greatest cities and walked the streets of some of the most underprivileged. His experience has taught him that safety starts with knowing how to conduct yourself and what to be aware of, not necessarily where you are. Website: www.PracticalDefense.com

Ep 372HS 372 FBF – "Spoiler" with James Jaeger
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 67 with James Jaeger, from January 2012. Jason Hartman interviews film producer, James Jaeger, regarding the new documentary, "The Spoiler." James discusses the philosophical underpinnings of our society over the last 100 years, dividing it into two categories: Libertarian Conservative Era and the Progressive Era. Jason and James tackle the question, how can so many people be fooled into this latter system, one of big government and Keynesian economics, for decade after decade, and no matter which political party is in power, they still apply the same philosophies, the same economics? Visit: www.HolisticSurvival.com. James talks about how he and his partners found the conclusion to be powerful philosophers, most especially three major philosophers, Jean-Jaques Rousseau, Auguste Comte, and Karl Marx, to be the influence. These and other philosophers laid the groundwork of these eras and slowly indoctrinated people through the decades. "They basically undermined the whole viewpoint of the individualist, strong, free economic society that we had going from the birth of the nation," says James. Comte's influence was the greater good, or altruism. Rousseau wrote the book, Social Contract, (democracy.) Karl Marx twisted Comte's greater good to be for the greater good of the State (communism). We have been brought slowly through the years into an increasingly welfare – warfare, totalitarian-type civilization with centralized planning, etc. Jason and James also discuss outsourcing, fractional reserve, taxes, GDP, illegal labor, and many other topics that are a result of the culmination of philosophers and political thinkers through the years. The film, "Spoiler," offers an explanation of why no third political party has been successful since 1860, and discusses a platform that is based on the political strategies of Nelson Hultberg that could bring a win to a third party and end the current two-party system. James Jaeger is a Telly Award-winning filmmaker, having produced such documentaries as "Fiat Empire," which featured Rep. Ron Paul and Dr. Edwin Vieira, and "Original Intent," which featured Ted Baehr, Pat Buchanan, G. Edward Griffin, Ron Paul, and Edwin Vieira. The new "Spoiler" documentary features some of these same experts, among many others, such as Jack Rooney, John Williams, and Chuck Baldwin. James is the founder of Matrixx Productions. James founded the production company to continue goals set forth by Lee Garmes, Academy Artists, Inc., and the Independent Screen Producers Association, of which James is a founding member. James graduated from The Haverford School and The Cinema Institute. He also majored in Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated summa cum laude in filmmaking at Los Angeles City College. He worked personally with Award winning cinematographer-director-producer, Lee Garmes, who became one of James' most important mentors. James holds a management degree from Celebrity Centre in Hollywood and has written and published five books and a 98-volume training manual on motion picture production and operations. James is also a pioneer in broadband distribution of motion pictures over the Internet and a founder of Pay-Per-View.com.

HS 371 - FBF - Wetiko: The Greatest Epidemic Sickness Known to Humanity with Paul Levy
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 113, from December 2012. Jason Hartman interviews author and artist, Paul Levy, regarding his intense experience with what was deemed bi-polar mental illness, his spiritual awakening, and the journey to free himself from the psychiatric world. Wetiko is an indigenous term used by Native Americans to describe spiritual evil. Due to an intense personal trauma suffered a few years before, Paul had a life-changing spiritual awakening in 1981 that was misdiagnosed as a chemical imbalance and manic-depressive (bi-polar) illness. He was hospitalized numerous times and told he was having a severe psychotic breakdown and would have to live with his illness for the rest of his life. Paul explains how he became aware that, indeed, he was not suffering from a mental illness, but a spiritual awakening (Wetiko) and found spiritual teachers that helped him through his spiritual breakthrough. For more about his amazing story, listen at: www.HolisticSurvival.com. Paul talks about one of the chapters in his book, "Vampire Squid Economics," which he describes as a perfect symbol of what happens when Wetiko gets into business. An artist, after the trauma of his shamanic break-down/through, he became a certified art teacher. Due to his intense interest in the work of C. G. Jung, by the end of the decade he found himself the manager of the C. G. Jung Foundation Book Service in New York, as well as the advertising manager for the Jungian journal Quadrant. In the fall of 1990, he moved to Portland, Oregon. In 1993, after many years of struggling to contain and integrate his non-ordinary experiences, Paul started to openly share his insights about the dream-like nature of reality. He began giving talks and facilitating groups based on how life is a shared waking dream that we are all co-creating and co-dreaming together. He is the founder of the 'Awakening in the Dream' Community in Portland, Oregon. He facilitates a number of 'Awakening in the Dream Groups' every week, which are groups of people who are awakening to the dreamlike nature of reality who are realizing that they can come together in a way that helps everyone deepen and stabilize their lucidity even further. A wounded healer in private practice, he assists others who are also awakening to the dream-like nature of reality. Paul is a pioneer in the field of spiritual emergence. A Tibetan Buddhist practitioner for over 30 years, he has intimately studied with some of the greatest spiritual masters of Tibet and Burma. He is the author of The Madness of George Bush: A Reflection of Our Collective Psychosis. Website: www.AwakenInTheDream.com
Ep 370HS 370 - Google: The Thought Police? with Google Memo Writer James Damore
In early August, 2017, James Damore was fired from Google for writing the now famous #GoogleMemo. In it he documented Google's internal echo chamber, some of the dangers the companies policies toward men and women present, and some suggestions for how to change moving forward. The document wasn't received as he had hoped, however, and he was fired after the memo went viral. In this 10th episode, Jason Hartman talks to James about the dangers of a company as big as Google becoming something akin to a thought police, whether algorithms should be public, what parts of the memo were ignored by the media (but incredibly important), and why we're seeing less and less diversity of thought in the world today. Key Takeaways: [2:38] How the Google memo came along [6:06] People talk about diversity, but don't surround themselves with any diversity of thought [7:42] An overview of the memo and what people considered so offensive [13:49] Some aspects of the Google memo were ignored by the media [15:46] We need to stop defining success solely in monetary terms, and women are now facing the stress related health concerns previously almost exclusively held by men [19:32] If we don't acknowledge, and celebrate, our differences as people, EVERYONE loses Website: www.FiredForTruth.com www.Twitter.com/JamesADamore

Ep 369HS 369 - FBF - Why We Need Glass-Steagell Again with Michael Kirsch
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 144, from May 2013. Eleven out of 50 states have now introduced resolutions into their state legislatures calling on Congress to pass Marcy Kaptur's H.R. 129 to re-instate Glass-Steagall, and South Dakota has become the first state to pass the resolution through both houses. Jason interviews Michael Kirsch of LaRouche PAC about the efforts to reinstate the act. These resolutions have broad bi-partisan support, as the matter or bankruptcy reorganization of the banking system is a matter of national prosperity. Here is a state by state breakdown of co-sponsors for state resolutions, and national co-sponsors of Kaptur's bill. These were inspired by normal citizens contact their elected representatives with the great need for action, and the more state legislators which can be inspired to put pressure in this way on Congress, the better. Glass-Steagall will enable the commercial banking system, though with a shrunken but purified capital, to become an agency of a national credit system guided by a chief lending institution for national infrastructure projects and associated industries. Listen for more information at: www.HolisticSurvival.com. Michael has written for a new credit Bank of the United States to lend for national industry and agriculture, modeled on the system of public credit of Alexander Hamilton, Mathew Carey, and John Quincy Adams, and Roosevelt's Reconstruction Finance Corporation's industrial loans. A video presentation of the history is available. It would broaden and define the guiding boundaries of the economy as a permanent coordinating agency for credit agreements, rather than serve as a special emergency institution.
Ep 368HS 368 - Fire Maxine Waters in Los Angeles' 43rd Congressional District with Omar Navarro
Maxine Waters has been representing the 43rd district of California for the past 27 years, but Omar Navarro has seen enough and wants a chance to fix what's ailing his district. Jason Hartman talks with Omar about why he wants to run, what issues are most pressing for the area, why there needs to be a crackdown on illegal immigration, and why homelessness is on the rise in California. Key Takeaways: [1:53] The political backstory for Maxine Waters & the demise of Los Angeles [6:26] The free speech hate in colleges around California is being paid for by the left [10:39] Omar's background and views on illegal immigration [12:51] Why California has such a homelessness problem Website: www.OmarNavarro.com

Ep 367HS 367 - FBF - The Important Issues Faced by US Border Patrol Agents
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 73, originally published in January, 2012. Join Jason Hartman as he interviews Andy Ramirez, founder and president of the Law Enforcement Officers Advocates Council, regarding the legal struggles that border patrol law enforcement officers face with illegal immigration and drug smugglers. As insane as it sounds, border patrol has been told it's not their job to catch illegal immigrants. Andy relates how the policies coming down from the Presidential administrations are not in support of stopping illegal border crossings, how the War on Drugs is nothing more than words, and how the chain of command, from the administration to Homeland Security to border patrol, is stacked in opposition to the real purpose of border patrol law enforcement. Andy shares numerous examples of actual situations and court cases in which law enforcement officials have been unjustly hit with investigations on trumped up charges, convicted and sent to prison for doing their jobs. When charges can't be filed, officers may be fired or moved to other departments. For more details, listen at www.HolisticSurvival.com. The system is set up to turn the good guys into bad guys and the bad guys into good guys. Under the current system, it is no wonder drugs flow so freely into the United States. Andy also talked about security compromises, inaccurate information from DHS, and border corruption, including being asked to testify the truth in the House and Senate because the Chief of Border Control wouldn't tell the truth. Andy discusses with Jason ways to fix these problems, starting with infrastructure changes. Andrew "Andy" Ramirez is the founder and president of the 501c3 non-profit Law Enforcement Officers Advocates Council, which he founded in 2008 as a follow-up to his original non-profit law enforcement officers advocacy organization Friends of the Border Patrol. FOBP was initially created to support the Border Patrol and their agents, while improving the quality of life for border residents. As FOBP's role expanded over the years to include all law enforcement officers, LEOAC is the next evolution in law enforcement advocacy. Andy continues to focus on improving national security at and between the ports of entry as well as along our coastlines, including Puerto Rico. His is a recognized expert on Customs and Border Protection. Andy is a trusted conduit of information between Congressional leaders and those on the front lines. Andy's work has led to a number of Congressional bills that address border security policies to help America's law enforcement officers. These bills enhance enforcement of laws and help remove obstructionist policies and red tape. Andy has uncovered numerous issues, becoming known as the "Defender of Border Patrol Agents", which now includes all law enforcement officers. He has defended numerous officers that were unjustly prosecuted, terminated, and persecuted for doing their jobs, especially whistleblowers. Some of the issues that were discovered included suppression of evidence, abuse of power, suborning of perjury, ignoring Supreme Court rulings, illegal criminal alien violaters who broke laws and were protected by DOJ/DHS during prosecutions of agents/officers. Andy joined the Liberty News Network as their National Correspondent in October 2010. He has given many appearances on TV and radio over the years. He also authored a comprehensive report titled "Unjustifiable and Impeachable, The FOBP Report on DHS, DOJ, and the Courts." Andy was instrumental in the prison release of former Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean, and he has been extensively involved in the Jesus Enrique Diaz case. Andy has been featured frequently on CNN's Lou Dobbs, FNC's Fox and Friends, Neil Cavuto, and Hannity & Colmes. He has also been a guest on such programs as Michael Reagan, G. Gordon Liddy, Laura Ingraham, as well as many local TV networks and Talk Radio shows across the country. Website: www.AdvocatesCouncil.us www.AndyRamirez.com
Ep 366HS 366 - Why Prepping Isn't Enough, The Need for Education on Liberty with Connor Boyack
Jason Hartman welcomes Connor Boyack, author of the Tuttle Twins children's book series, and founder of Libertas Insitute, to discuss the need for education about our rights and liberties to be taught to children at a young age. The Tuttle Twin series is aimed at taking important pieces of adult literature and distilling them into key points to emphasize in a way a child can understand. Jason and Connor dive into subject matter including how government and powerful entities erode our freedoms through fear, whether cryptocurrencies will stick around for the long haul, and how we can actually act to improve our situation. Key Takeaways: [2:40] Critical thinking is on the outs in our society [5:24] The way the system has been set up is totally rigged and takes too much effort to fully understand [9:22] As a society we have no incentives to change our ways [11:20] Connor's life as a prepper was not a healthy one, and why he likes cryptocurrency [14:32] Jason doesn't believe cryptocurrency will truly catch on because it's a director competitor with central banks and governments [18:46] Will governments shut down cryptocurrencies? [21:48] The government is eroding our freedoms in the name of "protecting the little people" [25:21] Some more subtle ways in which our fears are being used against us, such as avian flu, swine flu, Y2K, etc [28:43] Europe has become a disaster through socialism, immigration, and political correctness [30:11] Connor's long play to improve society Website: www.TuttleTwins.com (promo code "liberty") www.Twitter.com/TuttleTwins "The flip side of having individual liberty is having personal responsibility and accountability" "We are so acted upon, rather than acting"

Ep 365HS 365 - FBF – When the Government Becomes Your Doctor with Logan Darrow Clements
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 64, from December 2011. What happens when the government plays doctor? Join Jason Hartman as he interviews the producer of the documentary, "Sick & Sicker," Logan Darrow Clements. Logan went to Canada and interviewed doctors, patients, journalists, and even a doctor who went on a hunger strike, to find out how well a government-run healthcare system actually works. He shares some of his findings with Jason and encourages Americans to pay attention to the cold hard facts and downfalls of Obamacare. He discusses the similarities between Obamacare and Canada's government-run healthcare system. In his film, he even shows how supply and demand do not match up in a medical system run by politicians. Long waits in doctors' offices, hospitals, and clinics ensue and some treatments can take months to be approved, if they're approved at all. Anyone in America receiving government healthcare through Medicare and Medicaid already knows the pitfalls and high cost of government interference, where some medications and treatments are denied and the patient must come up with the money from their own pocket to treat a condition or even save their own life. Logan Darrow Clements is an entrepreneur and managing member of Freestar Movie, LLC in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from the University of Rochester in Economics in 1991 and William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing in 1992. He is best known for his "Lost Liberty Hotel" project, a rebellion against eminent domain abuse in 2005 that involved him trying to seize the house of Supreme Court Justice David Souter using his own ruling in the Kelo vs. City of New London case.
Ep 364HS 364 - Prepare Yourself for a 50-70% Market Downturn with David Collum
If you want an early peak into a respected year end review, then you need to listen to what Professor David Collum has to tell Jason Hartman. The two discuss the dangerous situation that's being created by entities like the Fed and our own government that will lead to disastrous implications. The problem is, nobody knows when the can will be allowed to stop. We've been able to stave it off for years now, but the bill will come due at some point. The two also look into the idea of "free speech" on college campuses and how to solve the intolerance shown by the left in that regard, as well as why Warren Buffett continues to lie about the equity market. Key Takeaways: [3:08] The merits of price gouging, and why price gouging laws are destructive [6:12] The issue of free speech on college campuses, and whether it actually exists today [10:43] If you want to solve the issue with students shouting down speakers, the administrators need to grow a backbone and punish the violators [14:01] The metrics that show if equities are overpriced are fraudulent [16:12] David is looking at a 50-70% reduction in the equities market [19:22] What would happen to the economy if the Fed actually raised rates to something like 4%, and why it's a completely different world than when Voelker gave the economy its "hard medicine" [23:12] Warren Buffett is a massive insider who likes to lie about the state of the market Website: www.Twitter.com/DavidBCollum David Collum's Cornell Faculty Page David's Previous Year End Reviews We shouldn't progress to the mean, we should regress to it, and that gets you to 60-70% regression. Ep 363HS 363 - FBF – The Hazards of Putting Too Much Trust in Google with Scott Cleland
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 95, from June 2012. Google has created many incredible and intuitive products to make our lives easier. But at what cost to people's privacy? They can take pictures of your house; they can track your searches and emails to bring you ads and information relevant to your habits and content, and much more. Jason Hartman welcomes Scott Cleland, author of Search and Destroy, on this episode to discuss the dark side of Google. Scott has been researching Google since its inception, as they bought their way to the top. "Google tends to think that doing good or being good is a license to do wrong," says Scott. Google has created a huge degree of trust, but has the most outrageous legal, fraud, infringement, and anti-trust and privacy violations track record of all public companies. Scott shares some of the situations in which Google was participating in criminal activities. For more details, please listen at: www.HolisticSurvival.com. Google has obtained an incredible amount of power over online information. Jason asks Scott to explain Google's relationship with the government. The U.S. government can obtain whatever private, intimate information that Google has without any warrant or subpoena. It boils down to a lack of security and an invasion of privacy. Scott says they know you better than your own family, online and offline, and the vast amount of information they collect puts people at risk. It seems so convenient that Google knows your search patterns, but is the convenience worth the loss of personal privacy? It definitely raises the security risk and proposes a conflict of interest. As Scott describes, anywhere there is a centralization of power, bad things happen. Scott Cleland is the world's leading Google critic. Cleland has testified before Congress three times about Google. He publishes GoogleMonitor.com and Googleopoly.net, and authors the widely read PrecursorBlog.com. As President of Precursor LLC, he consults for Fortune 500 clients. A former #1 ranked Institutional Investor independent analyst known for spotting early on why the Internet dotcom bubble would burst, Cleland was also the first analyst invited to testify before Congress about the missed warning signs of Enron's fraud and bankruptcy. Fortune profiled Cleland as "ahead of the pack in raising questions about WorldCom's debt, profitability, and survival." Cleland is a former U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Information and Communication Policy. He lives in the Washington D.C. area with his wife and two children.
Ep 362HS 362 - The Las Vegas Shooting Cover Up with Jenny Worman
The Las Vegas shooting was a terrible tragedy, but there's some things surrounding the shooting that aren't making a lot of sense. Jason Hartman talks with former Congressional candidate Jenny Worman about some of the aspects that just don't add up. The two discuss societies views on conspiracy theories, and why we can't just rely on mainstream media to give us the whole story. Key Takeaways: [2:12] Some of the things about the explanation of the Las Vegas shooting that seems strange to Jenny [5:41] We shouldn't marginalize conspiracy theories immediately [8:40] There were some strange movements in the equity markets in the days leading up to the shooting [11:57] Some of the more conspiracy theories that make the most sense to Jason and Jenny [15:08] The media just doesn't mention a lot of the irregularities about the shooting [18:52] ISIS seems like a great candidate for who is responsible for the shooting [23:25] The government is clearly covering something up, even if it's just the fact that they're doing a terrible job protecting us [25:31] Google and Facebook are the scariest companies in the world to Jason Website: Jenny Worman on Facebook

Ep 361HS 361 - FBF - Oil Lies, Population Control, Atheism, and Arrogant Politics with Jerome Corsi
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 103, from August 2012. Jason Hartman is joined by author and World Net Daily staff reporter, Jerome Corsi, for a discussion about abiotic oil, population control, the origins of the ACLU and many other topics. Listen at: www.HolisticSurvival.com. Jerome Corsi has authored many books, including The Great Oil Conspiracy, Where's the Birth Certificate?, Unfit for Command, and The Late Great U.S.A. In the first part of the show, Dr. Corsi shares research about abiotic oil, which is a theory that oil is formed from chemical reactions in the Earth's mantle, a process discovered by the Nazis and suppressed by the U.S. Government. Dr. Corsi says there is abundant naturally occurring oil and natural gas supplies, using as example oil that is seeping up from the Earth's mantle in Saudi Arabia. Jason and Dr. Corsi talk about population control and population growth, how the extreme environmentalists say the Earth cannot sustain its current population. Dr. Corsi says the Earth is not dying; the Earth regenerates and naturally controls population. He explains how liberal tendencies, such as fascism, Marxism, socialism ideals, cause depressions, lead to wars and dividing populations, and are usually combined with eugenics that lead to genocide. Governments won't acknowledge that people do not need to be controlled. They stifle human creativity in the name of spreading the wealth. Dr. Corsi also discusses the origins and intentions of the ACLU, which has resulted in a perversion of liberty, enforcing a kind of socialism under the guise of civil rights. He explores the holes in evolution, referencing the extinction and reappearance of the Cambrian Period in a relatively short geological time period, rather than the millions of years in which Darwinism proposes evolution occurs between extinct species. Dr. Corsi received a Ph.D. from Harvard University in Political Science in 1972. He is currently a Senior Staff Reporter for World Net Daily, where he works as an investigative reporter. He is also a senior managing director at Gilford Securities, a full-service boutique investment firm providing financial services to institutional and retail clients. For 10 years after getting his Ph.D. at Harvard, Dr. Corsi taught in universities, the last being the University of Denver in 1981, and conducted university-based research under federally funded contracts. For nearly 25 years beginning in 1981, Dr. Corsi worked with banks throughout the United States and around the world to develop financial services marketing companies to assist banks in establishing broker/dealers and insurance subsidiaries to provide financial planning products and services to their retail customers. Dr Corsi is an expert on political violence and terrorism. In 1981, he received a Top Secret clearance from the Agency for International Development, where he assisted in providing anti-terrorism training to embassy personnel. In 2004, Dr. Corsi co-authored the #1 New York Times bestseller, Unfit for Command — Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry (Regnery Publishing Inc., 2004) with swift boat veteran John O'Neill. The success of Unfit for Command permitted Dr. Corsi to make a career change into full-time writing on politics and economics, two fields in which he has considerable expertise and experience. In August 2008, he published The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality (New York: Simon and Schuster Threshold Editions), which was a #1 New York Times Bestseller for a month and remained on the NYT Bestseller list for 10 weeks. Dr. Corsi has authored and co-authored several oterh non-fiction books, including titles such as, Where's the Birth Certificate (2011), Showdown with Nuclear Iran (2006), America for Sale (2010), and his newest book, The Great Oil Conspiracy: How the U.S. Government Hid the Nazi Discovery of Abiotic Oil from the American People.

There's a continuous wave of terror attacks across our nation and across the world, but it's not being reported on like it should. Jason Hartman talks with Pamela Geller, defender of the freedom of speech against attempts to force the West to accept Sharia blasphemy laws, and against Sharia self-censorship by Western media outlets. HS 357 - FBF - Don't Trust a Lie Detector with George Maschke
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 79, from February 2012. The lie detector is not a test for truth and the polygraphists know this. Join Jason Hartman as he interviews expert and co-founder of AntiPolygraph.org, George Maschke on the fallacy of lie detectors. George states that the practice of using a polygraph test has not been scientifically proven to be accurate and that, for the most part, it gets people to divulge information based on "control" questions, and also "buffer" questions that are not even measured. The polygraph measures physiological responses, such as breathing, blood pressure, heart and perspiration rates, which are compared to the reactions of lie-control questions. George explains how it is often used to trick people into handing over information, how the test is not 98% accurate, but closer to only 50% accurate, and how it is sometimes used as a plea bargain in court cases to "prove" innocence or guilt. George shares many instances where the guilty were able to manipulate the test and go free unless other evidence was found to convict, and also instances of innocent people being found guilty. He lists many ways that a lie detector test can be beaten. George Maschke became a co-founder of AntiPolygraph.org and an author and activist against the use of lie detectors after wrongly failing a polygraph to get into the FBI. The organization is a non-profit, public interest website dedicated to exposing and ending waste, fraud, and abuse associated with the use of polygraphs and other purported "lie detectors." George is co-author of "The Lie Behind the Lie Detector" with Gino J. Scalabrini. George was born and raised in Long Island, New York, where he graduated from Westhampton Beach High School. He joined the U.S. Army for a four-year enlistment, and then moved to Los Angeles, California to study at UCLA, where he received his bachelor's degree in Near Eastern Studies, followed by a master's and doctoral degree in New Eastern Languages and Cultures. He currently lives in The Hague, Netherlands, with his family as a legal translator. Website: www.AntiPolygraph.org

Jason Hartman talks with Jon E. Mica, a writer and the father of a son who has been diagnosed with autism. Jon is author of "The Autistic Holocaust: The Reason Our Children Keep Getting Sick", a book that accuses the federal government of refusing to acknowledge it as such and having a corrupt and morally unsound relationship with "Big Pharma." First noting the dramatic rise in cases of autism in the United States since the 1970s, Autistic Indifference then discusses the rampant misuse and dangers associated with vaccinations. Additionally, the book argues that the Center for Disease Control has lied to the American public by presenting inaccurate data on annual flu deaths and, along with the Vaccine Safety Datalink, has buried damaging research on the perils of vaccines. Key Takeaways: [5:31] How the legal system is benefiting pharmaceutical companies [12:22] Comparing the USA's vaccine rules against the rest of the world [16:06] Ways we can take action [21:22] The evidence that vaccines aren't as safe as we've been told [26:57] Why drug companies are using drugs that are dangerous for us in our vaccines and how much it would cost to change it Websites Mentioned: www.NongmoShoppingGuide.com jon.e.mica [at] isp [dot] com

HS 355 - FBF - A Candid Look at North Korea and China with Gordon Chang
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 101, from August 2012 Jason Hartman is joined by author, Gordon G. Chang, to discuss the looming proliferation of nuclear weapons, particularly in North Korea. Gordon talks about the skepticism surrounding North Korean intentions, noting that the KNO-8 missile was unveiled and was to be transported on TELs, Transporter Erector Launchers, of Chinese design. He says it's very likely the Chinese are arming the North Korean forces. The KNO-8 has the potential to reach Alaska and U.S. forces in the Pacific. It is considered a direct threat to our homeland and completely unacceptable. Gordon feels there needs to be some very candid conversations about this issue. He talks about the instability and belligerence of the North Korean regime that doesn't bode well for their relationships with South Korea and the U.S. With the hard-line, barbaric elements controlling the regime under young Kim Jong-un, it could take a half decade or more to establish a more stable North Korea. Jason and Gordon also discuss the fragile political and economic system in China. As the workforce shrinks, China is at risk of collapse due to low economic growth and very interesting developments happening, creating a volatile society. The "economy is stumbling, the Communist party is fracturing, the authority of the central government is eroding, the military is breaking free of civilian control, and while all of this is happening, the Chinese people are taking to the streets hundreds of thousands of times a year and often in violent protest," says Gordon, based on the last figures available in 2010. In wrapping up, Gordon states that the change in nature of the regimes in both countries put everyone at risk. He suggests the U.S. stop looking at China as a solution for North Korea and instead create a new policy of working with its friends in the region. Gordon G. Chang is the author of Nuclear Showdown: North Korea Takes On the World, released by Random House in January 2006. Showdown focuses on nuclear proliferation in general and the North Korean crisis in particular. His first book is The Coming Collapse of China (Random House, August 2001). He is a columnist at Forbes.com and The Daily and blogs at World Affairs Journal. He lived and worked in China and Hong Kong for almost two decades, most recently in Shanghai, as Counsel to the American law firm Paul Weiss and earlier in Hong Kong as Partner in the international law firm Baker & McKenzie. His writings on China and North Korea have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the Far Eastern Economic Review, the International Herald Tribune, Commentary, The Weekly Standard, National Review, and Barron's. HS 354 - Our Economic Mindset is Keeping Us From Our True Potential with Mike Norman
Jason Hartman welcomes Economist Mike Norman to the show to discuss Modern Monetary Theory or MMT. Mike shares examples of common misconceptions people have of the US monetary system and economy, such as the US debt clock, that inflation equals growth, and how the tax system works. He believes that the US has an unlimited supply of capital and balancing the budget or functioning as a fixed monetary system would accomplish the opposite of what is needed to create growth. Key Takeaways: [1:40] Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) explains the value of money. [4:39] A tax system is required to create demand for money. [9:31] A fixed monetary system creates cycles of economic depressions and recessions. [11:53] The US national debt is a summation of what is owned by the US and its constituents. [19:25] A dollar must be created and pumped into the economy before it can be used to pay a tax debt. [21:46] The US has an unlimited amount of new capital. [27:13] There is a difference between inflation and growth. Website: Mike Norman on YouTube

HS 351 - FBF - "Secession Madness" in All 50 States with Drew Zahn
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 117, from December 2012. In light of the recent election results, thousands of people across the United States started petitions to the government requesting that their state secede from the Union. Drew Zahn, news editor at WND, joins Jason Hartman for a discussion about this movement that immediately followed on the heels of Obama's re-election. Drew and Jason talk about states' rights, pointing out that many citizens feel our individual rights are also being infringed upon through some of President Obama's mandates, such as healthcare reform. The movement began with one gentleman in Louisiana asking for a peaceful secession from the Union for his state and very quickly snowballed. Drew explains the legality involved in secession, noting that there are three ways that a state can leave the Union. Citizens in all 50 states have petitioned the White House, with many states having acquired more than enough signatures to meet the requirement of the government's policy for petitions. Jason and Drew discuss the ramifications, good, bad and difficult, of a state actually legally seceding. Drew Zahn is a reporter, movie critic and one of the news editors at WND.com, the nation's oldest, largest independent online news source. HS - Eyewitness to Las Vegas Terrorist Attack Shooting at Route91 Christian Concert
Sunday night in Las Vegas shook the town and, tragically, saw the loss of life to over 50 and caused injuries to over 400 participants at the Route91 Christian Music Festival. The deranged gunman who fired at them was shooting from the Mandalay Bay hotel, where Jason Hartman happened to be attending a meeting. Jason took some time Monday evening to reflect on his experience as the realization dawned on him, and the other meeting attendees, that someone was shooting at people on the ground. He also talks to his friend, Larry, who stayed at the meeting a little longer and ended up being locked into the hotel and having to spend the night in the meeting room. Larry tells about the scare they received in the room, how the situation was handled, and when he was allowed to leave. HS 349 - FBF - Why Planes Crash with David Soucie
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 121, from January 2013. Airplane safety has improved significantly, but there are improvements that can still be made to remove the fear that many people feel when boarding a plane. Author Dave Soucie joins Jason Hartman on this episode to talk about advances in safety and what still needs to be done. The biggest concern today is complacency, while the biggest improvement has been the implementation of Aviation Safety Information Analysis & Sharing (ASIAS), which allows for the exchange of information on precursors that may cause accidents down the road. David's take on this is that there is a lot of room for improvement yet. He states that even the passengers are part of the safety system, stressing they need to be aware and if they see something concerning, be bold and speak up. David describes the FAA's responsibilities and the standard regulations around the world. He also talks about the importance of the TSA, not disregarding blatant overstepping by some TSA agents, but the necessity of keeping airspace safe. There have been many horrific airline crashes and David tells the stories behind those crashes. The way accidents are most often looked at is pilot error. But David asks the question, what caused the problem in the first place that resulted in a pilot needing to troubleshoot? The initial cause can be critical, such as faulty equipment that the airline companies know need to be replaced, but choose not to do immediately. David and Jason close with general aviation tips and advice. Airplane crashes may be rare, but they do happen, and they're usually fatal. David Soucie insists that most of these deaths could be prevented. Soucie's worked in the cockpit, on the hanger floor, within the aviation boardroom, and inside the Washington D.C. beltway. He's seen death up close and personal - deaths of colleagues and friends that might have been prevented if he had approved certain safety measures in the aircraft they were handling. This memoir is a gripping description of what Soucie saw and experienced as he worked in the aviation industry. He's now focused on understanding the hazards and risks of air travel. As such, he is a regular consultant on the topic, from advising the Obama administration on airline safety management systems to taking a leading role as industry representative in the congressionally funded NextGen interdepartmental initiative to examine the challenges of aviation in the near future, not only for the Department of Transportation, but also for the departments of defense and Homeland Security, NASA, and the Office of National Intelligence. Since leaving the FAA in 2006, Soucie has analyzed nearly every major air disaster. From January 2007 to June 2010, there were 240 commercial airplane accidents, 28 crashes on scheduled airlines that resulted in 1,795 deaths. Website: www.WhyPlanesCrash.com
Ep 348HS 348 - Is a Drop in Gold Coming? with Harry Dent
In 2016 Jason Hartman was joined by Harry Dent, from Dent Research, to discuss the tax benefits you can get from moving to a US territory like Puerto Rico, some cyclical markets that are out of control, demographic problems around the world, inflation, and foreign investors in US real estate. Key Takeaways: [2:20] Harry's new home in Puerto Rico, and the tax benefits he can receive [6:18] Vancouver real estate is out of control [11:31] Japan's biggest problem is a demographic problem [15:21] Previously Harry had predicted a drop in gold which hasn't happened, does he still believe it's going to go down or was he wrong? [20:01] In a deflationary environment the only chance you have to make money is in yield, which can be found in linear markets with cash flowing properties [25:22] Most foreign real estate investors are legally laundering their money out of their country Website: www.HarryDent.com www.DentResearch.com
Ep 347HS 347 - FBF - Social Engineering with Chris Hadnagy
Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 111, October 2012. We have all had the experience of being taken advantage of at some point in our life. Con artists are often very friendly and charming. Jason Hartman is joined by author, Chris Hadnagy to discuss social engineering and framing, and how it relates to personal, business and national security issues. The discussion centers on Chris' book, Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking. Chris defines social engineering as "any act that influences a person to take an action that may or may not be in their best interest." He talks about the most important aspects of human hacking, such as influence – establishing rapport and asking for someone's help. Other aspects include reciprocity, concessions and social proof. Chris also explains the process of framing. Our framing is our foundation, our beliefs and morals, and social engineers work to understand a person's framing, looking for common ground. Chris Hadnagy, aka loganWHD, has been involved with computers and technology for over 14 years. Presently his focus is on the "human" aspect of technology such as social engineering and physical security. Chris has spent time in providing training in many topics around the globe and also has had many articles published in local, national and international magazines and journals Chris is a student of Paul Ekman's training classes on Microexpressions and has spent time learning and educating others on the values of nonverbal communications. He has combined what he learned with years of experience in a new research he has called nonverbal human hacking used to influence other people's emotions. He is also the lead developer of Social-Engineer.Org, as well as the author of the best-selling book, Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking. He has launched a line of professional social engineering training and penetration testing services at www.Social-Engineer.com. His goal is to help companies remain secure by educating them on the methods the "bad guys" use. Analyzing, studying, dissecting, then performing the very same attacks used by malicious hackers on some of the most recent attacks (i.e. Sony, HB Gary, LockHeed Martin, etc), Chris is able to help companies stay educated and secure. Chris runs one of the web's very popular security podcasts, the Social-Engineer.Org Podcast, which spends time each month analyzing someone who has to use influence and persuasion in their daily lives. By dissecting what they do, we can learn how we can enhance our abilities. That same analysis runs over to the equally popular SEORG Newsletter. After two years, both of these have become a staple in most serious security practices and are used by Fortune 500 companies around the world to educate their staff. Chris can be found online at www.social-engineer.org, www.social-engineer.com and Twitter as @humanhacker.
Ep 346HS 346 - America's Relationship with Russia & China with Paul Craig Roberts
Jason talks with the co-founder of Reaganomics, Paul Craig Roberts. Together, they discuss some of the international threats that could face America, thanks to the recent actions from Washington. Specifically, they deal with issues of demography, currency and military developments in Russia and China and consider the potential impact of each of these on the United States. Key Takeaways: [2:25] The ruble should be strong in comparison to the dollar, and yet the ruble is risking collapse. [6:19] The reserve currency status no longer seems as stable when we look at potential drops in use of the dollar. [13:34] Paul Craig Roberts describes the US's current position with regards to Russia and China. [23:33] We've got a whole generation of people who now can't afford to live on their own terms. [27:26] The discussion moves to inflation and how it could transform the US economy. [35:33] With so many problems, is there a solution? Website: www.PaulCraigRoberts.org Originally recorded in 2014
Ep 345HS 345 - FBF – The Proper Constitutional Role of a Juror with Roger Roots
This Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 82, from March 2012. The original intent of a jury was to keep government tyranny in check. In today's legal system, jurors are rarely told that they have this power. Jason Hartman interviews legal scholar and civil liberties activist, Roger Roots, on the responsibilities of juries and the Constitutional purpose of juries. Roger explains cases of unfair advantage by the U.S. Justice Department, where jurors are often directed and instructed by judges as to what convictions they may bring against a person, without being given the opportunity to review the laws. The full function of the jury is to be a final check and balance on the government legal system. Roger also discusses violations of First Amendment rights, corrupt laws, political involvement in corporations and markets, and how the violations against our First Amendment rights squelches the voice of the people who try to expose corruption. Roger talks about his work with the Fully Informed Jury Association, where he has pushed for legislation in favor of juries being fully informed of their rights and duties and the overturning of various small laws that prevent our legal system from working as our Founding Fathers intended. Dr. Roger Roots is a nationally recognized criminologist, legal scholar and civil liberties activist. He is active in libertarian politics, and in the promotion of a freer, fairer and more just world. He is the author of more than two dozen noteworthy scholarly articles, and some of his research has been relied on by federal courts. He is an advocate for the rights of the disenfranchised, the downtrodden and the politically estranged. In recent years, Roots has focused his work and advocacy on three areas: the fully informed jury movement, the reestablishment of Fourth Amendment protections and the establishment of a fair and equal court system for all participants. Roots has has published an important article on the lopsided procedural rules of the federal court system, "Unfair Rules of Procedure: Why Does the Government Get More Time?" which appeared in The American Journal of Trial Advocacy in 2010. He has applied for two major research grants to continue and pursue this research, and he hopes to secure research funding to pursue this research in the near future. In 2011, Roots initiated a formal request to U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts, chair of the United States Judicial Conference, in the hopes that certain unfair advantages for the U.S. Justice Department can be removed from the Federal Rules of court procedure. This work is ongoing. Roots has argued that various filing requirement disparities in the Federal Rules of Civil, Appellate and Supreme Court Procedure give an unfair advantage to the U.S. Justice Department in civil and criminal litigation, and that this advantage is compounded over time. This advantage places the poor and minorities in an especially disadvantaged position. Roots has presented academic papers on the topic before the Law and Society Association national conference and the annual meeting of the American Society of Criminology. During the 2011 Montana legislative session, Roots coauthored legislation that became House Bill 332, introduced by Representative Bob Wagner, to require Montana judges to fully inform juries of their absolute right to acquit and to determine the law in jury trials.
