Ep 12Implant Insights: Comparing Titanium and Ceramic Dental Implants
In today's episode, Holistic Dentistry discusses ceramic dental implants as an increasingly popular alternative to traditional titanium implants. Concerns about titanium implants, such as reliability and potential breakage, have led to the rise in the popularity of ceramic implants. Ceramic implants, made from materials like zirconia or aluminum oxide, offer advantages such as being lightweight and corrosion-resistant. Recent advancements in ceramic implant technology have demonstrated success rates comparable to titanium implants. Proper placement and maintenance are essential for the success of any dental implant, including ceramic implants. While titanium implants can break and may cause inflammation due to their low-grade conductivity, ceramic implants do not conduct electricity, resulting in reduced inflammation and bone loss. They are considered a natural and biocompatible option, especially for individuals with a predisposition to allergic reactions or periodontal disease. Ceramic implants offer aesthetic benefits, particularly in the front, as they are white and do not show through the gum like titanium implants. Cleaning ceramic implants is easy, and a water flosser has been shown to effectively reduce plaque. Additionally, ceramic implants are well-suited for patients with autoimmune diseases in the connective tissue disease family, as they lack metals that could trigger allergic reactions or inflammation. Overall, both ceramic and titanium implants have similar success rates, but ceramic implants provide a viable alternative for those seeking a natural and biocompatible option for dental implants. Key Takeaways: [01:00] History of Titanium and Ceramic Dental Implants [06:30] Properties of Ceramic Dental Implants [09:00] Titanium Particles Found in Peri-implant Tissues [12:00] Ceramic Implants Are a Better Option for Some Patients [15:00] Zircon Implant is a Better Option for Patients with Autoimmune Diseases [20:00] Conclusion both Titanium and Ceramic Implants have Similar Success Rates To learn more about dental implants, visit our website: https://www.beverlyhillsdentalhealth.com/ceramic-dental-implants-beverly-hills-ca/ Resources: BeverlyHillsDentalHealth.com | Instagram DrSandaMoldovan.com | Instagram Orasana.com | Instagram Orasana Water Jet Heal Up! Ep 11Beyond the Recession: Innovative Treatments for Gum Tissue Restoration
In today's episode of the Holistic Dentistry podcast, the focus is on gum recession, a common dental problem that can lead to tooth sensitivity, cavities, and tooth loss. The primary causes of gum recession include heavy brushing, clenching and grinding, thin gums, inflammation, and tooth movement. Gum trauma and recession can also occur from chewing hard objects or getting a cut on the gum. To prevent gum recession, it is recommended to use a soft-bristled toothbrush and brush in a small circular motion, targeting the teeth and the area just below the gum line. Treatment for gum recession depends on the progression of the recession and the quality of the gum tissue. If the gum has receded more than two millimeters, particularly with non-attached tissue, augmentation is necessary. The preferred augmentation methods involve using the patient's own tissue or platelet-rich fibrin. If there is insufficient patient tissue, donor tissue from a tissue bank can be utilized. However, the use of cow or bovine derivative soft tissue grafting is not recommended due to inadequate thickness. Seeking the guidance of a periodontist is crucial for exploring suitable treatment options to maintain healthy teeth for a lifetime if gum recession is present time. Key Takeaways: [01:00] Explanation of Gum Recession, Its Causes, and Problems [05:00] Importance of Gum Health and Gum Grafting [07:00] When to Treat Gum Recession Based on Progression and Quality of Gum Tissue [9:00] Indications for Using Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) to Treat Grum Recession [12:00] Preference for Using Own Cells for Gum Grafting [14:00] Importance of Growth Factors and Initial Swelling after Gum Grafting Resources: BeverlyHillsDentalHealth.com | Instagram DrSandaMoldovan.com | Instagram Orasana.com | Instagram Orasana Water Jet Heal Up! Ep 9Extracting the Truth: Exploring a Holistic Approach to Tooth Extractions
Today on Holistic Dentistry, we help you determine if you need a tooth extraction and the steps you can take for a healthy recovery. In our office, we do everything we can to avoid tooth removal. Although, in cases of severe cracking and deep tooth decay, an extraction is unavoidable. In this episode, we take you step by step through the extraction process and introduce you to a cutting-edge tool capable of gently removing teeth without causing soft tissue damage. No pliers or drills are required because the Piezo device utilizes ultrasonic technology and vibration to carefully remove the tooth without affecting the adjacent teeth, bones, nerves, or gums. Many patients wonder if they need antibiotics after an extraction. The truth is that it depends, but most extractions do not require antibiotics. You can never sterilize the mouth, but Ozone therapy detoxifies your mouth throughout your procedure, lessening the need for harsh antibiotics. We review severe cases that require antibiotics and give you the knowledge to advocate for an antibiotic-free recovery. Join us to learn more about the extraction process. Ep 8Unlocking the Jaw: How Holistic Dentists and Chiropractors Collaborate to Treat TMJ with Dr. Joseph Canul
Today on Holistic Dentistry, we continue our conversation with Dr. Joseph Canul about why dental CT-Scans should become the new standard of care. Every dental office has an X-Ray machine, but an X-ray only gives you a view of the dense tissue in the mouth, which is why so many patients needlessly suffer from misdiagnosis or even have undiagnosed infections, fractures, and problems in TMJ. With a dental CT-Scan, we can view the bone, soft tissue, and blood vessels simultaneously, which allows us to properly evaluate every aspect of the patient's mouth, jaw, and TMJ. Dr. Canul recalls how one dental CT-Scan saved his patient's life from a deeply rooted infection that an X-ray did not detect. This situation happens often, yet dental offices rarely utilize this life-saving technology. We discuss the many applications for dental CT-Scans that elevate patient care and prevent life-threatening conditions from occurring. You do not need to settle for a low standard of care. Join us as we discuss why CT-Scans are an essential component to the future of dentistry. Ep 7The Bite-Body Connection: Why Chiropractic Care is Critical for Optimal Dental Health with Dr. Joseph Canul
As we develop the field of biological dentistry, we discover more and more about the connection between the mouth and your body. Today's guest reveals how the alignment of your jaw affects the most important joint in your body, TMJ. Dr. Joseph Canul, a leading expert in chiropractic medicine with over three decades of experience, reveals why your TMJ is vital to your holistic health and how to protect yourself from cracked and damaged jaw discs. TMJ is the temporomandibular joint that connects your spine and your skull. Your jaw alignment directly impacts the health of this vital joint. Any misalignment in your jaw can trigger temporomandibular joint dysfunction. We discuss the importance of building awareness of this connection and training dental professionals to take preventative measures to avoid problems later in life. You don't have to accept pain as a standard of living. As a chiropractor, Dr. Canul can help diagnose and treat misalignment in your body and inform our dental professionals on the best course of action. It starts in the mouth, but the connection flows both ways. Dr. Canul explains how your gastro system can affect your jawline, which impacts your TMJ. Together we can find holistic whole-body solutions and integrate medical and dental care because it is the only way to optimize your health. Join us to learn why every dental office should include chiropractic medicine. Key Takeaways: [1:00] The Most Important Joint in The Body [3:00] What is The Temporomandibular Joint? Ep 5Preserving Your Smile with a Healthy Microbiome
Does scraping during dental cleanings make you anxious? Today on Holistic Dentistry, we discuss a better way to clean your teeth that protects your enamel and reduces the number of bacteria in your mouth. Our guest today is a dental hygienist, Bina Patel. She shares her experience using ozone therapies with her patients and how this revolutionary technology completely changes the patient experience. The mouth is the entry point into the body, so Bina uses ozone water before every procedure to break down the bacterial wall, preventing that bacteria from entering the patient's GI tract. She explains the importance of detoxifying the mouth and why ozone water is essential for holistic dentistry. Bina shares how even the most hesitant patients embrace ozone airflow therapy. She walks you through the process and explains how gentle and effective this method is, compared to traditional scraping and polishing. This therapy can penetrate the gum line, crowns, and implants that are impossible to reach with scraping alone. Join us to learn how to protect your microbiome during your next dental cleaning! Ep 4Filling in the Gaps: Understanding Mercury Fillings and What You Can Do About It
Today on Holistic Dentistry, I reveal the danger of mercury fillings and how they can cause a slew of health and cognitive issues. There is no amount of mercury that is safe for the human body. There are over two-hundred known disorders associated with mercury toxicity. We have alternatives to this toxic metal, and yet over sixty-million Americans are suffering from mercury toxicity from these fillings. Once this metal is in your mouth it quickly absorbs into your bloodstream. Symptoms can take years to surface, mercury has a half-life of a couple of decades. Symptoms can vary from mood swings to kidney problems because once the toxins are in your blood they travel throughout your body. Detoxification and removal are necessary if you have been exposed to toxic levels of mercury. If you have an amalgam filling it is important to find a dentist who is qualified to safely remove mercury, because the removal process vaporizes the metal which can cause higher levels of toxicity to you and your dentist. I share my own experience of having my fillings removed incorrectly and the symptoms that I experienced because of the highly toxic vapor. Join me to discover the reality of mercury toxicity and how you can avoid this at your next dental visit. Key Takeaways: [1:00] Mercury toxicity [2:00] How mercury spreads through your body [4:00] Establishing a mercury-free practice [5:30] The Smoking Tooth video [7:00] Dangerous side effects of mercury toxicity [8:30] Keeping mercury out of our water [11:00] Neurotoxins and galvanic currents [13:00] How removal can be more dangerous [15:00] Symptoms of mercury toxicity [17:00] The link between MS and mercury fillings [20:00] The FDA's recommendations Resources: BeverlyHillsDentalHealth.com | Instagram DrSandaMoldovan.com | Instagram Orasana.com | Instagram Orasana Water Jet Heal Up! Ep 3Root Cause: The Truth About Toxicity and Root Canals
Today on Holistic Dentistry, we continue our exploration of the most toxic practices in modern dentistry. The root canal has the potential to expose your body to toxic bacteria that can cause digestive issues, heart palpitations, and so much more. In this episode, I share the specifics of why a root canal leads to toxicity and holistic alternatives that maintain the integrity of your teeth. Most dentists cannot completely remove the infected materials when performing a root canal, so it can easily become a breeding ground for dangerous bacteria. This bacteria can get into your bloodstream and spread throughout the body, creating many health issues that are not easily associated with oral health. Without a biological doctor who is informed of the effects oral health has on the body, symptoms can go undiagnosed. Most people assume that teeth are like bones, but they are actually similar to organs. They have the ability to heal themselves under the right conditions. I share my favorite alternative procedures that safely remove infections from the mouth without deteriorating the nerve and root beneath the tooth. Join me as we dismantle dangerous conventional dental practices and uplift natural and holistic alternatives. Key Takeaways: [1:00] What is a root canal [5:00] The tooth is an organ [7:40] Root canals are toxic [10:30] Heart and tooth connection [15:00] Tonsillitis and your thyroids [16:30] 3D Cat Scans [17:30] Alternatives to a root canal Resources: BeverlyHillsDentalHealth.com | Instagram DrSandaMoldovan.com | Instagram Orasana.com | Instagram Orasana Water Jet Heal Up! Ep 2Clean Teeth, Dirty Secrets: Uncovering the Truth About Dental Cleanings

Most dentists are unaware that their products contain toxic chemicals, so it is up to you to advocate for healthier options. We hope to support you on your journey to holistic health by analyzing these compounds and educating you on their uses and the known risks associated with them. Toxic chemicals such as aluminum hydroxide, zirconium silicate, fluoride, and even gluten, are frequently used for teeth cleanings. In large doses, these ingredients can have serious side effects, and with many dentists recommending bi-annual cleanings, you run the risk of unnecessary toxic exposure. These ingredients are dangerous, but we do have alternatives. With this podcast, we hope to build awareness and educate patients so that we can replace these toxic chemicals with holistic ingredients. Join us as we educate and advocate for healthier ingredients. Our limitation was to treat the hole in the tooth, but what I like to say about holistic dentistry is that we are treating the whole person not the hole in the tooth, so that is the big distinction between holistic dentistry and traditional dentistry." [5:30] -Dr.Sanda Moldovan "The mouth is the gateway to your health, so we must really look deeply for any signs, and what kind of signs do we see in the mouth? We see signs of nutritional deficiency, we see signs of disease, such as systemic problems." [7:41] -Dr.Sanda Moldovan "We know that children who ingest fluoride have a decreased IQ. There was a study done in California, grades fifth through eighth. They measured the fluoride in the water, and the higher the fluoride in the water the lower the IQ in children."
