East Carolina - in somewhat surprising fashion - was announced as a regional host site on Sunday night leading into Monday's announcement of the field of 64 for the NCAA baseball tournament.
The Pirates have been ranked in the Top 15 in both major polls all season, but were considered by some media outlets as a non-host due to their RPI, which has dropped into the 20s over the last few weeks. But ECU made the host cut on Sunday night, and will await their regional pairings on Monday.
The 'Bucs on the Pond' podcast returns with Stephen Igoe, Scott Lorbacher, and Jonathan Wagner, as the trio react to the news, and take questions from the fans going into selection Monday.
