Show Notes
Kaiser Adolf Hitler the Hohenzollern travelled, ran, shuffled, and walked North towards Italy.
He travelled over 1000 Kilometers, in once inch thick concrete shoes, to get the Italian border. Most of the brutal trek completed with bullet wounds to the back and buttocks, inflicted on him within days of his escape.
He was reluctantly taken in at a convent in north-east Italy. He was still wearing the formal dinner suit he was abducted in during December 1943. The priest residing there knew who he was on sight, and initially refused to let him in and help him. Repeatedly saying to the resident Mother Superior "OH, NO! That's Kaiser Adolf Hitler outside the door. What is he doing here!".
After cleaning himself up at the convent, including bathing in a bathroom for the first time in over 15 years, he was eventually detained by Italian authorities.
Film footage recorded in the jail in Yugoslavia of prisoner Kaiser Adolf Hitler the Hohenzollern had already been broadcast on Television in multiple countries before his escape in 1959. Regularly in some cases. In some countries it was called the "Kaiser Adolf Hitler held Prisoner in the Train Station Show". A "pirate" broadcast before television was regulated properly.
