Show Notes

This is the first episode in a new series on the Arian Century. For the next century and a half, it appeared that the Arian theological position was going to win the day and become the ultimate form of Christianity in the Roman Empire. We’ll first take a look at the time right after the Council of Nicaea and how the situation developed now that secular and religious politics were becoming completely intertwined. We’ll also see how one important Pope named Julius would insert another key piece into the puzzle of Roman papal authority.
