Show Notes
The first ecumenical council, the First Council of Nicaea in 325AD, was a pivotal moment in Christianity. Once the Creed of Nicaea was defined, the bishops at the Council had a number of important issues they needed deal with. The bishops at the council created twenty canons, or rules of faith that created the guidelines the clergy and the laity would follow going forward. All this was done under the watchful eye of the Emperor Constantine.
