In colonial New England, King Philip's War (1675-78) took place during the Restoration years of the English Monarchy following the bloody English Civil War and the execution of King Charles the First, whose son Charles the Second, vengefully and tirelessly searched for the men who had killed his father; a relentless search that reached all the way to the faraway shores of North America.
