Show Notes
The angel doesn't just bring ordinary news to the shepherds, but good news of great joy! What is this good news? A savior has been born -- a child, lying in a manger. Once again, we see that the gift of joy arises from the presence of God with us. How might we more fully experience this joy? Like the shepherds, we can make the effort to go and see what God is doing.

For Reflection:
The shepherds didn't just listen to the good news; they took action to engage with what God was doing. Joy isn't just a gift, it is an invitation into participation.
- Have you ever received good news that produced great joy in you? What was the news? Why was it so joyous? How did you respond to the news? What changed in you as a result?
- What part of the good news about Jesus brings you joy today?
- With whom can you share that joy? How might you share your joy and theirs?
