This week on the High Wire Woman podcast, Rosanna Berardi is talking about employment and maintaining that high wire in the new normal with her guest Michele Olivier. Michele is a certified career coach, a former director of talent acquisition at YMCA, and now an entrepreneur helping both companies and individual job seekers. They’re also discussing the problems working women have when it comes to balancing our work and our personal lives. A lot of the time, we take on too much and don’t let ourselves take breaks; that’s detrimental to our mental well-being.
You'll hear Rosanna and Michele talk about:
- How the pandemic has affected the job market.
- Who are the hardest hit in society by the lack of availability of jobs.
- How we as women sometimes look for compensation for the ‘invisible jobs.’
- When seeking employment we need to chat with our partners or our support system and help them understand that the endeavor we are embarking on is serious and that they need to treat it that way.
- We need to stop micromanaging our partners and our loved ones.
- Being good at one thing doesn’t mean that you are good at another thing.
Just because we can, doesn’t mean we should. We should let others take some of the weight we carry and allow other people to do things for us without feeling guilty.
