Chip Mahaney has seen the news business change a lot in his 35 years in the industry. He’s spent the majority of his career trying to anticipate change and help his company, E.W. Scripps, adopt new technology. Now he’s the National Director for News Recruitment, also for Scripps. He focuses on scouting, recruiting, and developing news leaders for local broadcast stations. We talk about keeping an almost 140-year-old company relevant in a changing world and finding the right up-and-coming leaders.
