Show Notes
Former Reserve Bank governor Don Brash believes the RBNZ should be empowered to lift fuel taxes to fight inflation.
He stated in a blog post that increased fuel taxes would encourage people to to reduce their spending elsewhere- meaning inflation would fall.
NZ Herald Wellington business editor Jenee Tibshraeny says Don Brash's proposed solution is 'messy', and it would impact people differently.
