Prime Minister Chris Luxon recently announced a Defence Force team will be sent to the Red Sea to help protect maritime security.
ZB senior political reporter Barry Soper says Luxon denies this has anything to do with Israel and Gaza.
"According to Christopher Luxon, it'll contribute to the collective defence of the Middle East- and ships are certainly being hindered in their progress through there."
