Sami Pickens is a clinical pharmacy supervisor of transitions of care at NFRMC in Gainesville and 2x breast cancer survivor. At 28, she was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer and underwent an aggressive double mastectomy and reconstruction and started hormone therapy. Six months later, she was rediagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery, chemo, and radiation. Through this process, she has learned how to advocate for patients more than ever.
