Show Notes

Andrea Isabelle Lucas is the founder and CEO of Barre & Soul® (a boutique chain of innovative yoga and barre studios that are about to go national), and a keynote speaker who's shared the stage with Michelle Obama and Billie Jean King. Her voice is inspirational and down-to-earth. She is feminist and unapologetic about it, empowering, with a badass spirit and cat eyeliner for days. Andrea has journeyed from a teen single mom, former stripper, domestic violence and personal poverty survivor, to the creator of a multi-million dollar business - her studios were recently awarded the prestigious Best of Boston Award 2018.

I am joined on this episode by Brinn Strange, owner of AUXO Fitness, a barre studio in Gainesville, FL.

In this episode, Andrea shares:

:: her journey through poverty and domestic abuse to founding her own barre studio

:: why she chose barre over other forms of exercise

:: how she infuses soul into her barre workouts

:: what her personal and professional continuing education look like and the books she recommends (hint: Mindset by Carol Dweck is one of them)

:: how she has navigated the pandemic and the important topic of diversity and inclusion

You can find her online at barresoul.com or here. Her book is Own It All available on Amazon here. You can find her on social media @andreaisabellelucas.
