Who Are You, Really? John 1:19-28: Daily Devotional, Daily Bible Study

Who Are You, Really? John 1:19-28: Daily Devotional, Daily Bible Study In this episode, Rachael talks about the theme of identity, particularly how we often define ourselves by our roles or titles. She uses the example of John the Baptist, who walks in humility and a clear understanding of his purpose. It’s important to know who we are, and also who we are not. Rachael encourages listeners to reflect on their own identities and the ways they can point others to Jesus rather than seeking personal glory. ☆Have a question for Rachael? John the Baptist exemplified humility in his identity. Understanding who we are not can bring freedom. John's mission was to prepare the way for Jesus. Real influence is about pointing others to Jesus. We must clear the way for God to move in our lives. Humility is essential in our interactions with others. It's not about our recognition but God's purpose. Before revival, there must be a time of repentance. We should focus on preparing the hearts of others. The silence of God does not equate to inactivity; He is working behind the scenes. Anna was a prophetess, the only woman explicitly given that title in the New Testament. Worship can transform our waiting into a holy experience. Faithfulness in the everyday prepares us to recognize God's promises. God sees and honors our tears and struggles during waiting. Anna's life challenges societal norms about women's roles in faith. Recognizing Jesus requires spiritual sensitivity developed through worship. Waiting is not wasted time; it is a time of preparation. We should cultivate a posture of expectation for God's promises. Sound bites "She was part of that faithful remnant." "God sees your tears. He sees that ache." "Your waiting is not wasted time."
