If you are a marathon runner or tri-athlete you might be familiar with something called periodized training. This works on the concept of overload and adaptation. By stressing the body over time, allowing it to recover, and then stressing it again, athletes can gradually build endurance and fitness. A macrocycle refers to a season of training as a whole and a micro cycle refers to the smallest unit of time within the season, usually a week. What does this do to your body and how does it affect strength and weight loss? Can this theory be applied to mental health as well?
