A Michigan Medicine gastroenterologist discusses the latest GI-related research from Wuhan, China. A recent study conducted in Wuhan, China, and published by The American Journal of Gastroenterology, revealed that diarrhea can be an unrecognized symptom of COVID-19. The primary symptoms of the disease are generally defined as fever, cough and shortness of breath, with little research indicating gastroenterological effects associated with the condition.
