Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) was the third leading cause of death worldwide, causing 3.23 million deaths in 2019. In 2023, the WHO estimates the pooled global prevalence of COPD to be 15.7% in men and 9.93% in women. Despite such high prevalence, many COPD sufferers are left with no solution debilitated by an inability to maintain their normal standard of life.
