Aloha mai kakou! This week. I feature the music of Uluwehi Guerrero. While he's not strictly "on-tour" he's certainly visiting the East coast of the mainland from 11/12 to 11/20. If you're a travel agent in that part of the country, you may already have received the special invite to one of these events. If so, you may be in for a treat. Hope you enjoy the show. As always, if you like the music you hear, please click on the artist's name at left and check out the CD's in more details. Click here to hear this show: Mahalo and a hui hou! Hawaiian Concert Guide Show 004

Wednesday Night Special Aloha mai kakou, This is just a special mid-week podcast to cover some news items that have come up since Sunday's show. Click here to hear this show: First, it would appear that Uncle John Keawe's show in Carlsbad, CA on 11/11 is cancelled. The show notes from Sunday have been updated (below). Then, listener Uncle Dick sent along the following updates for the Palo Alto/San Jose area: In San Jose on the first Wednesday of each month there is a Hawaiian open-mic night at a place called Espresso Garden on Bascom Avenue. This Saturday, Ozzie Kotani will give a slack-key workshop at Gryphon Stringed Instruments in Palo Alto. Every Friday and Saturday beginning at 8 pm there is live Hawaiian music at the Hukilau restaurant in downtown Palo Alto. It's a different band every night. As mentioned in the show, Patrick Landeza has been traveling and performing with Cyril Pahinui a few months ago and is currently performing with Dennis Kamakahi. Here are the links to his web sites: Patrick Landeza's personal web site can be found here. And you can find a link to Hawaiian Music World here. Finally, if there are any Hawaiian bands here on the mainland that would like their concerts or albums promoted in this podcast format, please contact me using the contact info listed on the left side of this page.
