St. Johns Zuby Ejiofor, a senior forward and center, has been named Big East Defensive Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season. Ejiofor led the Red Storm to the conferences outright regular season championship, averaging 2.0 blocks and 7.1 rebounds per game. He was also a unanimous selection for the All Big East first team and the All Defensive team. Ejiofors impressive performance earned him a spot on the list of fifteen finalists for the national Naismith Defensive Player of the Year award.
