UConn Womens Hockey Team Dominates Holy Cross, Advances to Hockey East Championship

The UConn womens hockey team secured a convincing victory over Holy Cross, winning 6-1 in the Hockey East semifinals. This was the second consecutive game where six different Huskies scored, propelling them to the conference championship. The teams record now stands at 26 wins, 8 losses, and 2 ties.

After a tied first period, UConn took control with four goals in the second, building an insurmountable lead. Goaltender Tia Chan made 27 saves, including 13 in the third period, to secure the win.

The teams balanced attack was on full display, with goals from Kyla Josifovic, Julia Pellerin, Megan Woodward, Ashley Allard, Maya Serdachny, and Christina Walker.

UConn will face top-seeded Northeastern in the championship game on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The Huskies have struggled against Northeastern this season, losing all three regular-season matchups. This championship clash could be a turning point for UConn, as they look to reverse their fortunes against Northeastern and claim the title after their impressive playoff run.
