Naugatuck Police Arrest Spa Owner on Human Trafficking, Prostitution Charges

Police have arrested the owner of a local spa, Yiqing Zhang, on human trafficking and prostitution charges. Zhang, 44, of New Haven, controlled all aspects of the operation, including the premises and workers involved in sexual acts, allowing her to profit from the setup. She also hired foreign employees without proper masseuse licenses in Connecticut. Zhang faces charges of trafficking in persons, permitting prostitution, and second-degree promoting prostitution. She was held on a one million five hundred thousand dollar bond and arraigned in Waterbury Superior Court.
