UConns Sarah Strong, a sophomore power forward, is a finalist for the Katrina McClain Award, given to the top power forward in the country. Shes dominated this season, leading UConn in nearly every major category, and tops the nation in defensive rating and defensive win shares. Her stats are impressive, averaging 18.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 3.4 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game. Shes also a defensive force, tied for sixth nationally in steals. If she wins, shed be the second UConn player to claim the award and the youngest since the inaugural winner.
