Legendary College Football Coach Lou Holtz Passes Away at 89
Lou Holtz, the Hall of Fame coach who led Notre Dame to a national championship in 1988, has died at the age of 89. Holtz, who coached at six schools over 33 seasons, amassed 249 wins, 132 losses, and 7 ties. He was known for his fiery sideline style and quick wit. Holtzs career included 100 wins at Notre Dame and a stint as an assistant coach at UConn. After retiring from coaching, he became a broadcaster and motivational speaker.
