Hartford Federal Credit Union Expands Membership, Welcomes New Leadership

Hartford Federal Credit Union has received federal approval to expand its membership across northwestern Connecticut, including Litchfield County. This expansion covers residents in the Capitol, Lower Connecticut River Valley, and Northwest Hills planning regions, as well as towns like Bethlehem, Bristol, Plymouth, Thomaston, Union, Watertown, and Woodbury. The credit union, which manages $153.4 million in assets and serves over 16,200 members, aims to serve communities already connected to their branches.

The organization is also preparing for a leadership change, with longtime CEO Ed Danek set to retire next month. He will be succeeded by Beth Mazza, the current executive vice president, who plans to bring in new members from the expanded areas. Founded in 1961, Hartford Federal Credit Union operates offices in Hartford, South Windsor, Stafford Springs, and West Simsbury.
