Show Notes
Jose Antonio Ramos, the long-suspected figure in the 1979 disappearance of Etan Patz, has passed away. Ramos, who was 82, died on March 7th at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan. Etan, a 6-year-old boy, vanished while walking to his bus stop in downtown Manhattan. Ramos, who had ties to a woman who watched kids during a bus strike and faced accusations of child sexual assaults, drew suspicion in the early 1980s. Despite Pedro Hernandezs confession in 2012, Ramos defense still points to him as the real suspect. With Hernandezs next trial looming, this chapter in one of Americas most haunting missing child cases comes to a close.
