It was a tough weekend for Halifax sports, and we’re breaking it all down on Halifax Sports Talk. The Halifax Thunderbirds returned home to the Scotiabank Centre but came up short in an 11–6 loss to the Colorado Mammoth. We recap what went wrong, key moments from the game, and what it means moving forward. We also dive into a rough homestand for the Halifax Mooseheads, who dropped both games over the weekend. Halifax suffered a 4–3 overtime loss to the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, followed by a 6–3 loss to the Charlottetown Islanders. Despite the losses, there were standout performances, including Nathan Leek scoring four goals against the moose and Ivan Ryabkin recording five points in his second QMJHL game.
