The Milwaukee Bucks will likely be without Giannis Antetokounmpo for several more weeks, although we're still waiting on actual MRI results on his self-diagnosed calf strain. Regardless, the silver lining of another injury to Giannis is the clarity it offers the Bucks on their current situation: Milwaukee needs to embrace the gap year they've been thrust into.
Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti clarify what that means: not obsessing over every win when a loss would help the Bucks lottery position, but instead trying to use the trade deadline to gain draft assets and maximizing minutes for young players or those under contract for future seasons. Adding a top 10 pick plus any other future assets will put the Bucks in the best position possible to retool around Giannis -- or to rebuild without him.
