Leona Upton Illig is an author and book critic for the Children’s Literature Company. Her short stories have been published in magazines such as The MacGuffin, The North Atlantic Review, and The Western Online, and her non-fiction has been published in Sky and Telescope. Her children’s chapter book, The Elephant and the Bird Feeder, was published by 1st Ride Enterprises in 2016. From 2012 until 2014 she wrote a monthly environmental article for a local civics organization and served as its publicist. She has a Master’s Degree in English Literature from the University of Maryland and lives between Baltimore and Annapolis with her husband, David, and a small spaniel named Clara.
