Show Notes
How wild is it to think about a bright and happy future when you've just become a widow?
In today's episode, I'm joined by the wonderful Jen Zwinck, fellow podcaster, Host of the Widow 180 podcast, and creator of The Widow Squad, an online community focused on helping widows worldwide feel "normal" again. After losing her husband in 2011, Jen went through a dark path where looking at the future was utterly frightening. Time, a supportive community, her relentless resilience, and living for giving helped her stand back on her feet, find happiness while grieving, and reencounter joy.
Throughout our conversation, Jen talks about the night that changed her life forever, how tough it was to plan a funeral while playing puzzles with her, at the time, two years old daughter, and her first years as a widow. We also talk about Jen's community, The Widow Squad, and how they support widows in their grieving journey.
Additionally, we talk about finding happiness in grief, the importance for widows to lose the fear of the future, paying attention to the signs, and much more.
Listen to episode 146 of Grief and Happiness, and learn how to find your way back to happiness after losing a loved one.
