Show Notes
Have you experienced a sudden loss of a family member, friend, or someone else in your life?
In this episode together, I am joined by Shirley Thiessen. Just twelve days after celebrating her son’s marriage, she was planning his funeral. Experiencing this sudden loss threw Shirley deep into grief that she was unprepared to navigate. Since beginning her journey with grief, Shirley has become passionate about spreading awareness on how to best support someone who is grieving. She shares her wisdom and support for others through her work as a grief coach and her book, The Little Black Funeral Dress.
Throughout this episode, Shirley shares with me the story of losing her son suddenly and how she has discovered happiness within the grief. You will hear Shirley recount the events leading up to the death of her son, share her advice for how to best support a friend who is grieving, what she realized about grief, and ways that she stays connected to her son.
