Show Notes

Everyone deals with trauma differently. Two kids living in the same household, raised by the same parents, in the same loving environment will develop different reactions to the same setback. In any case, having someone to sit down and share fears and concerns is crucial.

Developing a system to process the difficulties life makes us go through is essential; otherwise, that trauma will come back in different forms and haunt us.

In this episode, I'm joined by the inspiring Dana Neiger, CHRO, Co-founder and Entrepreneur, Author, and Speaker. Despite her short age, Dana endured a lot of trauma and suffered massive losses. She lost her parents in her 20s and her brother 10 years later. Many years and several hours of therapy later, she married, formed a gorgeous family, and got the closest she could to her version of a happy life.

We had a fantastic conversation about relying on therapy for healing trauma, writing as a trauma-processing mechanism, and the importance of developing supportive relationships. We also discuss Dana's grieving process, the void we feel when the closest people don't say anything about our loss, and why self-care is crucial in grief.

Additionally, we talk about Dana's book, "Before I Knew It, They Were Gone," what inspired her to write it, the transformation she made thanks to therapy, and so much more.
