Dr Patrick Laude is a scholar, author, teacher and a professor of religious studies at Georgetown University in Qatar. He is one of the great authorities of our time on Perennial Philosophy.

Professor Laude's teachings and interests encompass comparative mysticism, poetry and Western representations and interpretations of Asian spiritual and wisdom traditions, with a focus on contemporary spiritual figures including Louis Massignon, Henry Corbin, and Frithjof Schuon. He has extended his work on the writings of Frithjof Schuon by editing several new editions of Schuon’s books.

In this dialogue with Reza, Dr Laude shares with us some of his insights and wisdom as regards the teachings of Frithjof Schuon. He discusses one of Schoun’s earliest works The Transcendent Unity of Religions, particularly the chapter concerning the Ternary Aspect of Monotheism.
