Talent: How am I using my talent for the kingdom of God? Text: Matthew 25:14-30 - What is a talent? - It is a gift from God. - It is a natural ability such as (music, art, athletic, mechanics or even math) - It improves with practice and time. - It is to be used for the good of others. "What do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it why do you boast as if you had not received it?" 1 Corinthians 4:7 - The Parable of the Talents: Matthew 25:14-30 In this Parable a talent is a very large sum of money. In todays money, a talent of gold would be worth $1,800,000. - Observations to apply from The Parable of the Talents: - We are stewards, not owners. - We are each given a talent according to our ability. - We have a choice to operate out of trust or out of fear. - God rewards good stewardship. - God punishes bad stewardship.
