Queen is a British rock band formed in 1970 in London by singer and pianist Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and bassist John Deacon. Although the group has presented casualties of two of its members (Mercury, who died in 1991, and Deacon, who retired in 1997), the remaining members, Brian May and Roger Taylor, continue to work under the name Queen, so the band still is considered active
