Introduction:
- Week 6 of our prayer series.
- Emphasis on praying for Christian qualities to replace our sinful nature with Christ’s qualities.
- Focus on Colossians 3:12-15.
Scripture:
- Colossians 3:12-15: Clothe yourselves with mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, love, and peace.
Points:
- Pray for Mercy:
- Show mercy to others as God shows mercy to us.
- Matthew 5:7, Matthew 9:13, James 2:13: Mercy is a reciprocating gift from God.
- Pray for Kindness:
- Kindness as a powerful witness of Christ’s love.
- Ephesians 4:32, 2 Corinthians 6:4-6: Kindness proves we belong to Christ.
- Pray for Humility:
- Humility is essential for salvation and effective ministry.
- Ephesians 4:1-2, James 4:6-7: Humility helps us resist temptation and share the Gospel.
- Pray for Gentleness:
- Gentleness should be present in all interactions.
- 1 Timothy 6:11, James 3:17, 1 Peter 3:15-16: Gentleness is a quality of a godly life.
- Pray for Patience:
- Patience in enduring hardships and representing Christ.
- Romans 12:12, 1 Timothy 1:16, 2 Timothy 4:2: Patience reveals God’s work in our lives.
Closing:
Seek the qualities of Christ in your life to truly reflect His love.
