S1E12 – Conquest and Consent (Lex Rex Part 3)

On today's episode I continue walking through the book Lex Rex, by Samuel Rutherford. Lex Rex simply means that the law is king. It is a book that very simply and logically looks at the nature and purpose of government. It also addresses issues such as civil disobedience and resistance, ideas that greatly influenced the American War for Independence. On this episode we look at chapters six and seven regarding whether conquest is a legitimate method for gaining power. We also consider whether or not people are born free.
