NAVWAR Chief Engineer Robert Wolborsky said the Navy is using emerging technology like 5G and proliferated low-Earth orbit (PLEO) satellites to deliver data and information to the warfighter anywhere on the sea.

Wolborsky, who sat down with us at AFCEA TechNet Indo-Pacific in Honolulu this week, said the lessons learned from the service's 4G experience have driven the Navy's approach to 5G. He spoke on his desire to stay ahead of the power curve with the capability.
