In this podcast episode, inspired by recent activity in amateur (ham) radio by station WA2ASQ, the Chief Operator of the station, Paul John Hausleben, does what he does best and tells listeners a story. This story is about how he began his journey into the fascinating hobby of amateur radio as a very young boy. PJH tells the background of how a very special mentor helped him to pass his official examination to obtain his license, taught him the ins and outs of ham radio, and started Paul out on the hobby and joy of a lifetime. PJH also tells the story of how his dear mum supported his dream and helped him in her own loving way, too.
Our podcast host also emphasizes the importance of mentors in our lives, those who take the time to teach, to lend experience, and provide a helping hand along the way to those starting out and learning in whatever pursuit they are dreaming about and desire in life.
