日本獼猴 Punchi 君因為抱著玩偶的可愛畫面，在網路吸引全球關注。但在日本農村，獼猴卻被視為破壞農作物的害獸。根據農林水產省統計，去年猴群造成的農損高達 7.7 億日圓，日本每年撲殺超過2萬隻獼猴，甚至發生幼猴受困陷阱一週後死亡的案例。靈長類專家批評，缺乏科學根據的捕殺無法解決問題。
