日本物價上漲、消費低迷，同時，日本政府宣布將釋放21萬噸儲備米，以平抑米價，但米價卻沒有下跌，引發日本民眾強烈不滿。最近，「飯友」，也就是撒在飯上增加風味的配料包，在日本銷量逆勢成長。有民眾說，因為米價太貴只能從配菜上面省錢，買飯友相對經濟實惠，還能當成一種配菜。
