美國加州洛杉磯野火肆虐，有男子為了守護父母留下的住所，不顧消防員發出的撤離指示留在原處對抗大火，後來不幸喪命，當時手中仍握著水管。這場野火浩劫不但造成許多人的家園焚毀，造成的經濟損失可能超過500億美元，保險損失預估超過200億美元。這場野火更燒出，保險公司的拒保和不續保爭議。
