日本皇位第二順位的繼承人悠仁親王，6號在年滿19歲的這天，舉行了成年禮。其實原本應該在去年，他滿18歲的時候就舉行成年禮，不過當時悠仁正值重要的升學階段，所以順延一年。這也是日本皇室40年來，第一次有男性舉行成年禮，上次舉行成年禮的皇族男性，是悠仁的父親，也就是現在的皇太子，秋篠宮文仁親王。
