美國政府於9日公布8國新關稅稅率，其中菲律賓關稅不但未減反增，由4月的17％提高至20%。專家指出，菲律賓在談判期間屢次展現誠意，且是美國在亞太的重要戰略夥伴，如此加稅恐將損及雙方互信。另有觀點認為，亞洲首個與美達成貿易協議的越南，其關稅率目前亦為20％，或成為美方對其他東南亞國家的徵稅基準。
