川普和馬斯克正在努力為美國聯邦政府瘦身。聯邦政府的人事管理辦公室，也已經發布大規模裁員通知，當中包括裁掉絕大部分的試用期員工。根據華盛頓郵報估算，這個政策有可會影響到20多萬人。同時白宮也聲稱已經有7萬5千名政府雇員，接受了條件還算優厚的離職提議。
