日本百貨業近年衰退，人口老化加上網購盛行，很多在地百貨連年虧損，最後只能忍痛關門。面對這波衝擊，不少百貨公司紛紛展開行動，像是在商場內設置圖書館，又或者將百貨轉變成加盟經營模式，引進知名品牌，讓百貨不只是賣東西，而是帶來不同的消費體驗。
