繼10月爆發，禽流感疫情之後，法國從6月以來，陸續傳出的，牛結節疹疫情，也變得一發不可收拾。這種疾病會讓母牛，產乳量減少，更可能造成公牛不育，對法國畜牧業的，經濟衝擊相當大。然而法國當局，大規模撲殺的做法，不但讓農民痛批缺乏溝通，更引發農民聯盟動員，抗議政府防疫過當。
