北韓因民眾偷看戲劇，而遭處決的事件屢見不鮮。根據聯合國，最新人權報告揭露，自新冠疫情以來，北韓因散布，或觀看外國影劇，而遭到處決的案例明顯增加，同時報告指出，北韓監控手段全面升級，言行自由幾乎被剝奪。而在國際關切，人權問題之際，北韓領導人金正恩，則持續推動核武，與常規軍力建設，顯示平壤，依舊維持高壓，與備戰態勢。
